Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If I do decide to purchase one of your training videos, how do I know it’s secure?

A: That is a great question and I myself would also be concerned. I use ClickBank.com as my primary source for taking online orders.

Founded in 1998, ClickBank is a secure online retail outlet for more than 12,000 digital product vendors and 100,000 active affiliate marketers. You can read more about them by following this link.

Q: I was just wondering why you prefer Corel Painter to Photoshop? Is it just what you are used to, or is there a specific set of reasons?

A: I use Photoshop everyday however when it comes to painting I prefer to use Corel Painter. I have tried using Photoshop for digital painting and for me, it feels clunky. I would highly recommend every artist to at least try using Corel Painter once. I don’t know how to explain it but for me personally using Painters tools and brushes just flow easily for me.

I do however use Photoshop for editing and the final color corrections. Also Photoshop is used if I need a special effect. I feel Photoshop is more robust in that field.

Q: Do you have to have a Tablet to Draw and does it need to be a Wacom?

A: This is a great question! I have gotten a lot of questions regarding the tools to use when painting on the computer. Lots of artist who start out use just a mouse. Heck that is what I used too when I first starting painting on the computer. Using a computer mouse when you are just beginning is great for getting your feet wet and trying to understand just how the programs work and to play with the digital medium.

However as soon as you can afford a digital tablet I would highly recommend it!! I have to be honest too YES, if you can afford it look into getting a Wacom tablet even if it is one of the lower end ones. You won’t regret it. Wacom has great tablets and the pressure sensitivity is amazing!
